How to restore the shine of the floodlights?
Matt and damaged headlights are a problem for many cars. However, there are ways to restore transparency to spotlights. Polishing headlamps is an increasingly common practice among drivers.Replacing the lamps is expensive. You can also replace the glass itself, but then there is a risk that the lamp is badly glued, so that it will evaporate, and the accumulated water will corrode the reflector. The faster (and cheaper) way is just to polish a lamp and restore headlights.
How to Fix the Headlights?
You just need a few dozen minutes of work before beginning the regeneration, wash the lamp thoroughly. You can use car shampoo or even washing up liquid for this. Rinse and dry the headlights. Protect varnished or plastic surfaces around the lamp with paint tape, this will protect you from accidental damage to these elements. Take the paper with P500 or P1000 gradation, depending on the dirt. Soak the paper with clean water and start grinding the reflector – make circular movements clockwise. Do it exactly at the place, because the final effect completely depends on it. Then change the paper to P1500 and repeat the action, then use P2000 paper. When finished, rinse the reflector thoroughly with clean water.
After tarring time for polishing, you can use polishing paste and polishers. If someone does not have a polisher, he can replace it with an ordinary drill. You can put a felt ring on the discs and slowly polish. It would be best if your equipment (drill or polisher) was equipped with a speed control function. Then you’ll have a better chance of avoiding burning the reflectors. You do not need to polish the edge of the felt at high speed, because we can burn the reflector. After a short time, the effects of our work will be visible. The polishing paste is best applied to the lamp, not to the felt wheel. If the treatment is performed on the car, it is worth wiping some places by hand, because the machine will not reach all corners. Polishing the headlamps do not have to be repeated too often. Usually, only light polishing with a paste is needed, preferably manually. Hope this post helps! Now fix your favorite car’s foggy headlights with these amazing restoring tips.
